AI literacy, built by and for Hoosier communities
Hoosier AI 1000 set out to train 1,000 Hoosiers in AI literacy and prompt engineering. Instead of relying on one classroom, InnoPower trained Master Trainers who each taught 20 people in their own communities, reaching small business owners, educators and formerly incarcerated individuals.
The initiative was developed with Indiana Wesleyan University and Blaizing Academy, with community partners including The Exchange at the Indianapolis Urban League, Sagamore Institute and IAAQLI. It was a finalist for the 2026 Mira Awards AnalytiXIN AI Adoption Award, and the same train-the-trainer approach has since been taken to Liberia and West Africa.
